Supreme Religious Authority: Society needs unbiased media and genuine people to serve their country

The spokesperson and representative of the Shia Muslim Supreme Religious Authority, sheikh Abdul-Mehdi Elkerbela’i, delivered Friday sermon on January 17, 2020 at the Imam Hussain Shrine in which he talked about the importance of unbiased media and genuine people to patriotically serve their country.

Elkerbela’i said, “We currently need to find a solution for our society and for our country to end the tragic reality we are facing.”

He added, “We need an honest ruler who assumes responsibility and commits to their promises and duties.”

Another point Elkerbela’i shed light on was the necessity to unbiased media, and the society needs unbiased analysts whether they are political, economic, social, or historical.

He indicated that the society also needs unbiased historians and writers to recount peoples’ and nations’ historic events in order for the coming generations to review those events and benefit from peoples’ experiences.

“The society needs genuine doctors and engineers and teachers who teach students: farmers, labors and educate others to be good citizens,” Elkerbela’i pointed out, noting that all those people will contribute to developing the society and helping it prosper.
