Troupe of Imam Hussain Shrine participates in international theatrical festival

The Child Care Department of the Imam Hussain Shrine has participated in Neopolis 33rd International Festival of Children’s Theater held in Tunisia.

Department Director Mohammed ElHesnawei said, “Our participation in the festival was a play, titled “The King of the Forest,” produced by the Imam Hussain Shrine’s Department of Child Care. Our second participation will be in the city of Nabil, Tunisia in the next couple of days.”

ElHesnawei added that this participation will open promising opportunities towards improving the children’s theater in Iraq through coordinating with international activities concerning children’s theater.

He then noted that 16 countries have participated in the festival including Iraq.

It’s noteworthy that the Child Care Department of the Imam Hussain Shrine has participated in many international festivals of children’s theater, in addition to conducting a great deal of performances and activities, such as The Little Hussainian's Theater and a project of preparing 1000 children’s theater writers.
