Study on Arbaeen pilgrimage conducted in France to be annexed to book on Islam written 2 decades ago

French researcher and writer Dr. Sabrina Leon Murfin has conducted a study on the Arba’een pilgrimage, for it is the world’s largest annual religious event.

Murfin said to the Imam Hussain Shirne’s website, “I have begun my research on Imam Hussain (Peace Be Upon Him) and the Arba’een pilgrimage, and therefore I have come to Iraq as part of my research.”

She noted that what pushed her to conduct this study on the Arba’een pilgrimage was that she watched the Arba’een largest walk – in which pilgrims walk from southern Iraqi city Basrah to Karbala – via social media.

Murfin added that her study will be part of her book titled “History of Islam” she wrote 20 years ago, which talks about Islam, its fundamentals and schools of thoughts.

Sabrina Leon Murfin, Christian – born in 1958 – wrote several books, such as “Hussain and Islamic Legislations,” “History of Islam,” and “Shia Reformation.” She is currently the director of a Center for Specialized Religious Studies in Paris, France.
