Only few meters away from the Imam Hussain Shrine, there lies the sanctuary famously known as Mukhaiem—where the tents of Imam Hussain and his family (Peace Be Upon Them) were situated on the Day of Ashura in 61 A.H.
Imam Hussain Youtube Channel has stated, in a video, that the tent of Elabbas – Imam Hussain’s brother – (Peace Be Upon Him) was situated in front of the other tents to protect Imam Hussain and his family (Peace Be Upon Them). Elabbas (Peace Be Upon Him) chose for his tent to be there, for he was an utterly experienced warrior and an expert in military planning as well as the commander of Imam Hussain’s army and the banner carrier.
