Supreme Religious Authority: Water conservation, displaced families' return home necessary

November 24, 2017, in the second part of the Friday's Sermon held at Imam Hussein Shrine, sayyid Ahmed Es-Safi, representative of the Shia Muslim Supreme Religious Authority and the preacher of the Friday's Sermon, said: “It is important to conserve Iraq’s resources, for Iraq is one of those countries God has blessed with abundant resources, and all those resources are used constantly; therefore, it is necessary for those who manage the resources to study the situation and set plans to conserve water.”

His eminence added: “Every once in a while we receive information about a paucity of water, and the farms are primarily threatened. An economic policy must be initiated by the Iraqi government to conserve water by storing as much of it as possible, in addition to instructing people on how to use it.”

Es-Safisaid also said that it is a prerequisite for the Iraqi people to think objectively in order to strengthen the society and spread peace and love all over the country as well as helping the displaced return home.
