Iraqi-Turkish cooperation in manuscript conservation and restoration

The Imam Hussein Center for Manuscript Conservation and Restoration, affiliated with the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, received a delegation from the Turkish-based al-Abhath Center for Islamic History, Culture and Arts.

“Our visit came to examine the work in Imam Hussein Center in terms of conserving and restoring the manuscripts in the holy shrine,” said al-Abhath Center Director Munaf al-Temimi.

“We aim to make way for cooperation between the two centers through establishing training courses for manuscripts conservation and restoration as well as organizing joint exhibitions.”

Member of Center’s Board of Directors Dr. Salama al-Khafaji added, “We found professional expert personnel at the Imam Hussein Center using the most advanced and contemporary methods in the field of manuscript conservation and restoration.”
