Special stations erected along the roads leading to Karbala during Arbaeen

The Quran House of Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has launched the Quranic Stations Project for Arbaeen under the auspices of the Islamic Seminary in Najaf.

“The project was launched with the approach of the largest religious pilgrimage in the world – Arbaeen,” said Sheikh Muhammad al-Mansouri, member of the project’s supervising committee.

The pilgrims have started their annual march towards Karbala coming from the southern provinces.

Al-Mansouri pointed out that more than 80 Quranic stations have been erected in the provinces of Basra, Dhi Qar and Maysan.

“There will be Quranic ceremonies in every station,” stated the Sheikh.

Last year, over 1600 Quran teachers - mainly graduates of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine’s Quranic courses - participated in the stations that are divided into two parts: one for men and the other for women.
